The "Character Issue"

Part of Yahweh's plan of Salvation is to help us develop character. Character, integrity, and honesty, along with our intellect (including memory), is the only things from this life that we can expect to take over into the life to come.
Our bodies are scheduled to rest in the grave at death, where we will lie until the resurrection, or else be changed at His coming, if we are still alive at that time. If we are called and chosen in this life, we must learn to obey Him. We must develop good character, overcome bad habits and eliminate the sin in our lives. We must have His Holy Spirit to do this, and to inherit eternal life.
Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of Yahweh dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of The Messiah, he is none of his.
And in order to have His Holy Spirit dwelling in us, we must obey.
Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Spirit, whom Yahweh hath given to them that obey him.
I have heard people say many times, "let your conscience be your guide." But in building good character, is our conscience a reliable guide? Can it be trusted? No, not unless it has been properly trained. And proper training can only come from a proper source. The only source for sound moral training with a perfect law as our guide, is the Bible, as given by the Creator. And that perfect law is the Ten Commandments. Briefly, the first Four of the Ten tell us how to relate to our Creator, Yahweh, and the last Six of the Ten, tell us how to relate to our fellow-man.
Since the Ten Commandments and any teachings about the Creator were removed from the schools, the courts, and very nearly every other place, including the home and some churches, an entire generation of so-called "baby-boomers" has grown up without this knowledge. Now their children are growing up, even more ignorant and lawless than they were, and we as a nation are in DEEP trouble.
Just by watching the evening news or reading a newspaper, we can see that there are all too many people who have no conscience at all. Or one that has been trained in front of the TV set, in the movie theatre, or on the mean streets of our scabs called cities. Gang violence, drug use, individuals doing violent things, fornication among the young, with the resultant abortions, and rampant homosexuality are just some of the evil results of our new national "no-law, no-fault" policies. And everyone it seems, especially politicians, are "out to get theirs" while the getting is good. The sentiment has been, "there are no absolutes. If it seems good to YOU, then DO it.
Many now say that our President's character doesn't matter, "as long as he's doing a good job." How can someone do a "good job," and yet be immoral? It is impossible. What they mean is, "as long as I get mine, let's not make waves."
Yahweh sent a Savior, His own Son, Yahshua, to save us from this mess. He taught a different way. He said we can be saved by accepting His sacrifice for our sins, and then keeping that eternal moral law, the Ten Commandments. He said it is better to give than to receive. He said we should put others before ourselves. He came to serve, and He called us to be servants - to serve others.
He is coming again soon, to put down this unparalleled lawlessness. Our whole system has corrupted itself. Good is being called evil, and evil is being called good. They will even fight against Him when He returns, according to the Book of Revelation.
But a small group, called the "Firstfruits," is being prepared to serve with Him at His coming. These are those who "have the testimony of Yahshua the Messiah, and keep the Commandments of Yahweh." (Rev. 12:17, 14:12, 22:14). He said, "IF ye will enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS."
As we begin to do these things, we will gain maturity and strength, just like a baby does as he/she begins to grow up. We will be able to discern right from wrong, and will not be at the mercy of the satanic manipulators in our society who would use us for their own evil purposes.
Will you join with us and thousands of others, to accept Him as our Savior and soon-coming king, and then begin keeping His Commandments? To have faith that what He has promised, He is able to fulfill? If you will, then begin studying the Scriptures and let THEM be your guide. They "are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in the Messiah Yahshua", 2 Timothy 3:15. Then heed the Apostle Peter's admonition in Acts 2:38, to "repent and be baptized in the Name of Yahshua the Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Then, and only then, will your conscience be a reliable guide. Our character must reflect His perfect character; we must yield this carnal nature to the divine.
